Reading Gladiator children

Dear Parents /Carers,

Due to the current situation regarding the Coronavirus it has been advised to cancel all after school clubs for the safety of the children and staff. Reading Gladiators will unfortunately be affected by this cancellation, however we would like to encourage the children to keep reading. The Reading Gladiators company are offering an online app to use at home.

The Reading Journey app, which is free to UK schools can be accessed from home on iPads once the school has registered and been approved. (Android and Kindle versions are in the test phase and we hope to have news about their release soon.)  Children can use the inbuilt reading journal and add in their own titles, as they continue to build their personal reading journey. Watch out for the forthcoming webinar that shows how to use the app to its full potential if children are using it at home.

Lots of companies are also offering free subscriptions for parents who are home schooling, giving the children access to free books online. I have included a few links for reading with children in this letter. Reading Gladiators will be resumed as soon as school feels it is safe to do so.
